A leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, has fully recovered from knee surgery carried out six weeks ago.

In a video released by some of his close aides, the opposition leader was seen paddling on a stationary bicycle unaided and with obvious ease. He even waved at the camera a couple of times.

Mr. Tinubu had surgery in New York and is thought to be recovering in the UK, where he has been receiving visitors, amongst them, General Mohammed Buhari (rtd). It is still unclear when Mr. Tinubu will be returning home but recent events suggest it will happen soon.

The leadership of the New Peoples Democratic Party has  said that  President Goodluck Jonathan is not qualified to seek reelection in 2015.

The reasons why he cannot contest, according to the group, are: The 1999 Constitution, an agreement the President  entered into and his open statement in Turkey in 2011.

The President had  on Monday said that the 1999  Constitution allowed  him to be in  office for a maximum of eight years.
