It is obvious that the stakeholders of the industry are not doing anything to curb this long overdue abuse which keeps generating comments year to year.
Below is Mr Lolu's post on FB:
LOCALLY PRODUCED VIDEO QUALITY
I THINK SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE URGENTLY AND SERIOUSLY DONE ABOUT AN ASPECT OF OUR LOCALLY PRODUCED MOVIES; THE QUALITY OF THE TRANSLATION OF THE VERNACULAR MOVIES INTO THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IS SOMETHING TO WORRY ABOUT. WHILE MANY MAY RESTRICT THE IMPORTANCE OF THE MOVIES TO JUST ENTERTAINMENT, IT IS INSTRUCTIVE TO ALSO KNOW THAT YOUNG PEOPLE WATCH THEM, AND THE CONSTANT EXPOSURE TO SUCH POOR QUALITY USE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IS NOT GOOD FOR THEIR EDUCATION. IN ADDITION, SINCE WE NOW REPORTEDLY EXPORT MANY OF THESE MOVIES TO OTHER COUNTRIES, PERHAPS MORE CARE NEEDS TO BE TAKEN BEFORE OTHERS BEGIN TO IMAGINE EVERYONE IN NIGERIA SPEAKS BAD ENGLISH. WE HOPE THE RELEVANT GOVERNMENT AGENCY RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT WILL TAKE NOTE.
