Twice tonight the entire Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos suffered massive power outages leading to disruptions in flight operations at the airport. The power outagest happened twice according to a journalist, Ahmed Salkida, who witnessed the blackout.
The first blackout which happened at 7:45pm lasted for two minutes. A second one, which is still ongoing, started at 8:06 PM.
Salkida, who a passenger on a Dubai bound Emirates flight said the boarding is currently going on in complete darkness as the airliner deploys torchlight to assist customers to get on board.
