Whew!: Plane Makes Emergency Landing In Sokoto As Tires Explode Just After Take-Off

Another tragedy was averted this morning after a Saudi-bound flight of Kabo Air made an emergency landing at the Sir Abubakar airport because its tires exploded just after take off.

The Boeing 747 jumbo jet left Kano on Friday en route to Saudi Arabia but had to divert to Sokoto when the incident happened.

All the passengers aboard the airline had been successfully evacuated from the plane and lodged in a hotel in Sokoto state.
This is coming barely 72 hours after an Embraer aircraft belonging to Associated Airlines with registration number 5N-BIT crashed in Lagos shortly after take-off from the Muritala Muhammed Airport. This was the 30-seater aircraft, which had 20 passengers on board including seven crew members and the remains of former Ondo State governor, Olusegun Agagu crashed about 9:30am killing 13 and injuring several others on the 3rd of October.
