APC on rescue mission –Tinubu

Former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu

National leader, All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, says the party is not about himself, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) or any leader of the APC. Tinubu said the party is about the nation and the need to rescue Nigeria from inept leadership.
Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, said this in response to a question about the significance of the five former PDP governors joining APC and the implications for Nigeria.

He said, “We want to change the way things are done by working together and investing our ideas. We must change the way we do things. The cutlass of the 60s cannot be used for farming now. We need leaders that can think outside the box.’’

The APC national leader spoke at the 2012/2013 Call to Bar ceremony of the Nigeria Law School which held in Abuja on Friday at the International Conference Center.

According to him, Nigeria needs a democratic revolution that will unleash infrastructural development and massive industrialisation.

He said Nigeria is a nation with talented youth, whose potentials must be harnessed for the development of our country.

The former governor said, “The lamentations must stop. After so many years of lamentation, we must lead the new resolve to rally for the much needed change our country badly needs.’’

“We are not in a military era. The language used shows a government out of tune with the general feelings of Nigerians. Nigeria cannot continue to afford to loose her best brains to the Diaspora.’’

Tinubu condemned the posture of the government to the continued strike by ASUU and said we should be more concerned about losing more brains to the outside world.
