Omotola Tells CNN African Voices Her Future Plan



      

Prolific and Nigerian superstar actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde will be featured this week on CNN's African Voice programme. The show airs from today, Friday, January 10, 2014 till Tuesday, January 14, 2014.
Numerous fans of the sexy mother of four, who will tune in to the programme, will have the opportunity to hear from the screen goddess' mouth talk about her rise to fame, upbringing, passion for activism and future plans.

The singer, television star and philanthropist told CNN, "I've reached a point in my life where I’ve realised I have to leave something. I have to have a legacy. I decided I will be an activist for Africa. My experience with the UN and other humanitarian organisations inspired me to want to speak out and say more and there's so much you can just say with words. This was my motivation for singing."


Omotola is popularly referred to as the Queen of Nollywood. She is not only an icon in the Nigerian entertainment industry, but a UN ambassador and activist with Amnesty International.

In 2012, Omotola was awarded the Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts (BEFFTA) Icon, a special honorary award, in recognition of her contribution to the film industry in Africa, Europe and globally.

Omotola is the first Nigerian with her own reality TV show, tagged “Omotola: The Real Me”, she was also named one of the most influential people in the world by Time Magazine in the annual Time 100 List in 2013.

The CNN's weekly half-hour programme, which highlights Africa's most engaging personalities, will air Omosexy's interview on Friday, January 10 at 9.30am; Saturday, January 11 at 4.30am; Sunday, January 12 at 10.am & 7.30pm; Monday, January 13 at 11.30am & 6.30pm; Tuesday, January 14 at 6.30am.
