UI expels 78 students for poor performance

Authorities of the University of Ibadan have asked 78 students of the school to withdraw from the institution based on poor academic performance.
The Senate of the institution, which sat in May, made the recommendation based on records made available to it by various faculties of the university.

The bulletin, issued by the school, stated that the affected students were from 13 faculties and that they failed to obtain the minimum academic requirements for the 2012/2013 session.

A breakdown of the withdrawn students indicated that six of them gained admission into the university through the Direct Entry mode, 66 through University Tertiary Matriculation Examination while six got into the university through UME.

The bulletin, which was signed by the Registrar of the institution, Olujimi Olukoya, said the premier university would continue to uphold the highest standards which the school had been known for.
